He isn't going to get removed from office and you know it. Which means that any future president can abuse them as well.

He isn't going to be removed because people like you insist that it would be more productive to change future laws to prevent the abuses of office that the current president just committed, instead of penalizing him directly for breaking the law.

At least what I offered actually plugs the hole in the legislation and it would be sufficiently more bipartisan than this current debacle.

And interestingly, congress is meant to be the body that has the power of the purse if I am not mistaken.

https://www.tutor2u.net/politics/reference/power-of-the-purse

So the existing powers that the president has in directing foreign military aid go against the constitution.

That's why they have the impoundment act in place, which Trump breached.

So you just made this one a US politics thread :X3:

I'm just continuing the conversation. I can start a new US politics thread if you'd prefer. My post wasn't on topic at all.

Donald Trump is a teevee show host, Barack Obama is a teacher, George Bush is a businessman, Bill Clinton is a lawyer, the other George Bush is a navy pilot, Ronald Reagan is an actor, Jimmy Carter is a farmer, Gerald Ford is also a lawyer and Richard Nixon is in the navy. ;)

Troll less obviously please.

I'm not trolling. If you want a different thread to discuss US politics, start one. I don't know if the mods will let it stay or not but it's fine to move things elsewhere.

Stop being obtuse, you said you would start one then when someone said do it you passed the bucket.... even rhamamparra would be able to see it.

The previous thread was locked so I don't think that it would be prudent to start a new thread.

It is.

If I put in a regulation stating that you have to accommodate and feed 10 homeless people in your house, do you actually own your house?

Yet that isnt even the comparison, my house isnt a soup kitchen charging homeless people for services. Almost the entire business sector is regulated in some way, i guess its all nationalised in your head then?

Regulation does not equal nationalisation, how silly. You should rather just admit you didnt understand the democratic health bills which is totally understandable given all the corporate propaganda/misinformation surrounding them.

So what is the solution, clearly some of us want to discuss US politics.
