So what is the solution, clearly some of us want to discuss US politics.

It's difficult to say. There tends to be a lot of vitriol and off-topic-ness in the Trump-related threads. But it's hard to imagine having a topical forum without a Trump thread since he's one of the most important people in the news just about every day.

Something that's blatantly obvious is the volume of vile insults leveled at the Dem's by the Rep's, such as them loving terrorists, unpatriotic, ......... but very little or none of the same in the other direction.

Trump sure has influence.

Somebody should request permission from the moderators to start another American politics thread.
Are you volunteering?

Would be nice if we can have a general US politics thread again, I alway have a good laugh at some of your posts.

Or just quietly go on discussing them here without resorting to personal insults ;)
Yeah, I think by now we all know who is pro-trump and who is anti-Trump and some of the ones who are kind of in the middle etc.

We all know what triggers the other side. We are all tribialist to a degree and want to support our team.

Maybe some tacit acknowledgement of this from everyone, we can debate the matters in a civil fashion?

So is there any more need to say Anti-Trumpers suffer from TDS? Yes, we do, deal with it. The insults and you lefty liberals are destroying the world claims aren't going to change that. So lets kill those insults to the anti-Trumpers.

Is there any more need to say pro-Trumpers are blind, sycophantic conservatards, Nazi synpathisers, wanting to run a proto fascists nationalist accelerationist state? No, the guys and girls on this forum aren't like that. So really no point in sluring the pro-Trumpers. You have your reasons and that is OK.

Peace.

Each tribe will post their links and news bites and opinions, let's move forward and look at that and not the poster.

I know this thread is mostly a fact-free zone, but some of these revelations are astonishing:

ROLF did you even check the source, oh I forgot the Steel dossier was good intel too, as long as it say orange man = bad.

Lev Parnas', associate of President Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, pending federal criminal case for making false statements and falsifying records.

Parnas and his business partner Igor Fruman, both U.S. citizens who emigrated from the former Soviet bloc, have been indicted by federal prosecutors on charges of conspiracy, making false statements and falsification of records related to allegations that they made outsized campaign donations to Republican causes after receiving millions of dollars originating from Russia.

Additionally, Parnas has sought to testify in the impeachment probe -- Pencil nexk did not mention the reports of a possible immunity deal to secure his appearance that could save Parnas from prison time.

Yea another quality source from Pencil neck.

Yet that isnt even the comparison, my house isnt a soup kitchen charging homeless people for services. Almost the entire business sector is regulated in some way, i guess its all nationalised in your head then?

Regulation does not equal nationalisation, how silly. You should rather just admit you didnt understand the democratic health bills which is totally understandable given all the corporate propaganda/misinformation surrounding them.
Regulating third party interactions like making sure that contracts are fulfilled are not nationalisation. They are there to allow peaceful negotiation.

Regulating the actual business of businesses is nationalisation, especially the prices that they can sell their products at is nationalisation. In fact it is actually closer to expropriation without compensation. Since you don't like the example of property ownership, how would you like it if the government said you are charging too much for your services, thus your maximum salary is going to be 50% of what you earn.

I quoted a piece from Vox, which is a left wing statist publication who are very much in favour of it. Deliberately.

Yes Lev Parnas as with all Trump associates is a highly untrustworthy source. Luckily we don't need to rely on his verbal testimony because he's released a veritable mountain of documentation

Absolute nonsense, the current system already has providers accepting rates for coverage based on medical aid rates, thats also how South Africas system works. What they are looking at trying to do now, is getting those rates reduced further, one of them is an increase in competition via imports. Another issue is trying to deal with thousands of different insurances, which is a paperwork nightmare for doctors, a single payer system will greatly reduce those costs.

There is no real point in trying to argue with you if you want to make up your own definitions like regulation = nationalisation. You're basically trying to make the argument that the entire world is nationalised.

He isn't going to be removed because people like you insist that it would be more productive to change future laws to prevent the abuses of office that the current president just committed, instead of penalizing him directly for breaking the law.

That's why they have the impoundment act in place, which Trump breached.

I'm just continuing the conversation. I can start a new US politics thread if you'd prefer. My post wasn't on topic at all.
Tweeeeet!

Wrong. Time out. Reality check.

People like you, your yo and you who are South Africans can't change US laws, voting systems ... we aren't US citizens. Please keep it real.
