Will Bill Gates be next to do the marketing ?

"Cloud computing" is certainly gaining momentum.

Now this is a real loss.

It's a pity hacks like Steve get far more recognition than unsung heroes like Ritchie.

Did anyone ever read K&R's "The C Programming Language"? Now that was the last great, concise and easy to understand specification of a programming language used to write operating systems...

I still have K&R on my bookshelf. It *is* the defining work as far as C is concerned.

Strange how little press the creator of the language that Windows and Linux (and probably MacOS) gets. Without him, none of this would have been possible.

But I can't put it better than the first post, which did make me quite emotional...
