I also recently had a root canal done, came in at around R4200...I also felt it to a touch on the expensive side.
Since then I had a few fillings, same dentist - ranged between R800-R1300 a filling so far...
The problem is, it's a good dentist, you feel at ease and informed and they offer good service. So I don't know, it's a bit of a toss-up between having the job done well or maybe taking the risk with a less experienced dentist?
Wish there was a listing somewhere of average prices charged by dentists according to their specializations and experience.
