Department of Communications outraged by Sunday Times ruling

ultimately by making the complaint they submitted to the jurisdiction of the press ombud and must respect the ruling or seek it being judicially set aside - which they would have no grounds for - or overturned on an internal appeal. There comments about the Parliamentary committee are peculiar and absurd.

I wonder if Dinah Pule has actually had one of Jacob Zuma's kids. I can't understand how she's being protected so much.

The DoC need to stop mucking about and do some actual work for a change.

Can't she just roll over and die already? Incompetent to say the least.

Who was the worst communication minister

Your comment about a communication minister's death, reminds me of someone.

Remember her?

She was pretty bad as well, but at least she did not wear a blue raincoat and call it a dress:

Time for a Poll I think, who was the worst communications minister we ever had?
1. Dina Pule
2. Ivy Matsepe Casaburri

Tough one that

If it heads off to the judiciary can they test the allegations contained in the articles?

"outraged", such a big word coming from the DoC, maybe we should start getting outraged at their performance

I am a little confused
MP Dianne Kohler Barnard, who then submitted it to Parliament’s ethics and members’ interests committee, which is conducting an inquiry into Minister Dina Pule.

So you know there is an enquiry and you send some information to assist this query, is that not what you are supposed to do? I understand if it is some sort of attempted smear like trying to link some 14th cousin in the US to a firm who did business with a firm that had a janitor that knew a guy who ...blah blah. But this is pretty straight forward.

I am guessing it is evidence such as the documents where Pule named her boyfriend as a spouse for trips and so forth.

waste of time and waste of a news item, They should be more concern with getting the change for the digital TV Move D2

Complaining does not help, but voting does assist a bit. ANC will have fewer seats in parliament thereby hampering them from just ignoring complaints from citizens on a lot of issues.

If it survives a first round then quite possibly yes. However lets face it if the DoC heads to court the Press Council should defend the matter irrespective of the allegations. Of course an amicus can seek to be entered and it could be argued that the public interest requires ventilation of the issues but it doesn't make sense for the court to not take a technical line.

First she messed up her department, now she wants to attack freedom of the press.

The damned press is there to provide information. WTF are these people on about? They'll make a million laws to benefit themselves and run rough shod over any laws any time it suits them. It's not as if this information had not been in newspapers. The original investigators may as well have taken freaking newspaper clippings. Now the DoC is in a war with a stupid newspaper to get the validity of the proof struck from the record if you ask me. Probably saw it on reruns of LA Law :D

Blurry useless shameless nincompoops! All this ****e to redirect attention from the real issue. It's like arguing with my sister! Round and round the story goes in all the loopy possible directions! Dina... Is a crook. Right? Right.

Reading that press release from the DoC, the whole time I honestly visualised "The Spear", along with Lenin and Stalin shouting out rhetoric to the masses.

Popcorn? Comfy couch?
:D

Dibs on the name "DOC Popcorn"

Long-lasting, only sold in 50kg bags ('cos one requires such vast quantities), it leaves a sour taste in the mouth ...

Available on cash-up-front pre-order only, it will never actually be delivered ...
