The ANC’s Integrity Commission has ordered Deputy Finance Minister David Masondo to step down from his position following allegations of abuse of power for involving the Hawks in his domestic violence dispute with his mistress.

ANC veteran George Mashamba, the chairperson of the governing party’s integrity commission, wrote to Masondo earlier this month informing him of its decision.

Speaking of mistresses do you have any news for us on Norma Gigaba and the car?

Edit: I see there’s a thread already.

Listen kids, it is an error of judgement...when you get caught...otherwise, it is just another bloody sunny day. I am sure, we going to hear this defence rather often...the season of judgement of error has started. Litmus test for the ANC... something is changing or just, the same crap again.

Would he nice if they alseep did something about the state capture architects still sitting pretty as MPs and even heading up committees in some cases. Or Mr 10% ruling the roost over in Luthuli pardoning VBS looters.

Does it not look like the same issue with Gigaba and his wife? The Hawks spokesperson was interviewed yesterday about it, I wondered what the Hawks were doing in what appears to be a domestic quarrel.

Masondo led the "Zuma must resign" campaign, so he can not be that bad.

Looks like there is more to it.

Hawks spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi told IOL that the woman had been charged with malicious damage to property and assault.

He said more charges could be added and “there was more to the case than meets the eye”.

“This is a Hawks matter because there is more to it than people think, but we will not ventilate that at this stage.

“This matter was referred to us and there has been an investigation. This is only one part of the investigation, there are other serious matters to the investigation,” he said.

Don't trust the hawks. Giga has been having domestic issues for a long time now even if his wife planned on killing him, it would still not be a priority crime for them. Did they also think the Masondo intimidation was a priority crime too?

Yeah, I guess we will soon see if it is anything like the Masondo case.

They ordered Zuma to step down as well, isn't it?

The integrity commission found that Masondo’s actions brought the ANC into disrepute and that he showed poor judgment by involving the Hawks and opening himself up to accusations of abusing his power and state resources..

Yes and he told them to go sleep with themselves. Their job is to make recommendations and the NEC take those under advisement.

Integrity commission may have been a good idea but it has been proven completely toothless so far.

The ANC never intended to be held to actual account. Everything they do comes with an escape clause built-in. This way they give appearances of taking corruption seriously while also protecting themselves from needing to take accountability when it suits their agenda.
