These articles/letters is in afrikaans and I'm not going to spend the time to translate them.

The first two are letters by readers of Beeld complaining/commenting on the bad state of disipline next to rugby fields at school rugby games. The last letter is the reply by the head master of Die Hoërskool Menlo Park to which the first letter refers.

I must say that I was not at that game mentioned in the letter but that same day I was at Hoërskool Garsfontein in Pretoria at their derby between Garsfontein and Hoërskool Centurion and the events next to the field is pretty much what is being described in the first letter. The parents at one stage even encouraged their children to hit his opponent when a fight was about to start. I really think this should be urgently addressed and sorted out by all school in the country and not only the 4 schools mention here.

I must say that this isn't restricited to rugby or to Afrikaaners. I used to coach Little League soccer and I must say the very worst team we had to play against was Wits. Some really nasty parents there. One delightful mother was screaming 'Kill her' to her son who was trying to tackle one of the girls who played in my team. And this isn't a race thing either because the folk from Attridgeville were probably the nicest parents around.

Yes this isn't restricted to only one group in the population. That is also not what I ment. It is only pure coincidance that this was published in an Afrikaans newspaper. I have seen this happen at english schools also.

This is a problem in society in general.

we once got penalised in a rugger game for one of parents chirping the ref :D lol, but its definietly not confined to a few schools, improper conduct by supporters at schools sports is a common occurance, i once saw a guy run onto a field and tackle one of the players...pretty shocking!!!
