In the same year, Americans alone spent $75B :erm: on mobile phones alone, 2/3 of which were smartphones.

Diamonds are forever but, to most, phones seem to be almost as exciting.

Phones need to be replaced. Diamonds as noted last forever. The demand for diamonds are not the same as with smartphones

Mine was very excited about the new phone I bought her. If I'd given her a diamond she would have pretended to be thrilled, while wondering why I didn't get her a nice phone instead.
