Did they ban smoking in staduims...?

Sometime in the next year or so the new law will be passed that prohibits smoking in sport stadia also.

The Blue Bulls decided by themselves that they will enforce the rule as from 1 July 2009 and thus no smoking was allowed in the stadium... more info here

I know in the Family section on Elispark smoking and drinking is not allowed. If I take the kids to the rugby I sit there. However anywhere else in the stands you can drink and smoke.

At Loftus though you are not allowed to drink in the stands smoking was fine still till last week. Loftus just needs to get a Family stand/section like they have at Elispark. No need to ban smoking and drinking in the stadium. Yes I agree people should have a choice, so give them one.....

+1. Im a soker but I feel this is a good thing

They have a family section at Centurion as well where smoking and drinking is not allowed.

I applauded them for this. Very happy that I can enjoy the wc without someone smoking close to me.

Lol, I doubt a person is going to risk getting thrown out of a WC game just for a smoke.

Well i thought they had banned it long ago.

As a smoker though i must agree with the this though, when i quit the worse smell is someone next too you smoking. I don't think smokers should be treated like normal people as smoking is a nasty habit and most smokers do not notice the smell and irritation it causes because they are used to it.
