Other - Like every year, we had the event in our complex but on last Saturday and not on Halloween night. Many complexes around us do the same. I don't know of anyone who does it on 31st, unless it falls on Saturday.

Yes, at the private trunk or treat event we attended. Perhaps 50 kids in attendance. The usual complex one was cancelled due to lack of interest though.

In some neighborhoods they've put stickers on their gates etc. to say kids are welcome to knock. But no - didn't see anything.

Only saw the video clips on social media platforms of Dementia Joe 'lick-or-eating' babies at the White House Halloween party last night... ;)

President Joe Biden bit three children at a Halloween event at the White House. The president playfully bit the leg of a child dressed as a turkey, and nibbled the feet of two other toddlers.

The event, themed around 'Hallo-read' to celebrate the Jill Biden’s 40 years of teaching, saw thousands of guests visit the White House to receive sweet treats, and books from the First Lady who was dressed as a panda.

White House defends Biden for touching mouth to several babies during Halloween event - FOX Illinois

The White House on Thursday defended President Joe Biden’s decision to touch his mouth to several babies during a Halloween event.

Photos from the event show Biden putting his mouth around the leg of a baby dressed as a chicken. The leader of the free world also appeared to touch his mouth to the arm of a baby dressed in a ghost-pattern outfit and take the feet of two other babies in his mouth.

White House spokesperson Andrew Bates directed The National News Desk (TNND) to reporting by Axios when reached for comment about Biden’s conduct Thursday. A caption below an image of Biden biting one baby reads “Biden jokingly bites the leg of a baby dressed as a chicken.” Bates’s email highlighted the word “jokingly.”

“Please see the highlighted from Axios,” Bates said. He did not respond when pressed to clarify what joke the president was making.

Other images of Biden’s baby biting described the move as having been done “playfully.” One caption described the move as “kissing” while another appeared not to acknowledge Biden’s bite at all, reading “Biden greets trick-or-treaters.”

It is the second time this week the White House has been forced to defend Biden’s conduct. He appeared to refer to supporters of former President Donald Trump as “garbage" during a virtual appearance Tuesday.

Not here in PTA where I stay.

But my gf lives in Jhb close to Parkhurst. Last year we took the kids to a Halloween T&T. People put sweet out for kids , with map of the homeowners participating in Halloween.

Usually only see these on weekends in some neighbourhoods that do a thing.

Being midweek I think killed it a bit this year, but I must say going into the CBD saw a lot of people slightly dressed up just for fun.

The people in my area take it quite seriously, there is always a good few hordes out and about on Halloween walking around with their little skid marks in tow begging for sweeties. Seems these days the kids aren't allowed to do it alone, the parents escort them around, we do live in dangerous times though so perhaps not overboard.

I hope the kid was taken for a rabies injection

Nothing at all....

Thinking about it a bit more, I think you have to remember that these days most houses have gates, dogs, dummy intercoms so nobody is just going to knock on your door uninvited. I remember the childhood home we used to live in 7 out of 10 of the homes had no gates, you could walk straight up to the door, today all of them have gates elect. fences etc

Halloween is just not our thing.........
