Does anyone know someone who is good with generic Chinese diesel generators and can repair/service them?
Have a 5.5kva that had a fuel pipe leaking from the tap, and while I was trying to fix that I stupidly tightened bolts and changed oil and just generally checked everything. However, now that it is all back together, the engine is racing at a crazy speed, and looking to catch on fire from over racing. Smoke pouring out of it after a very short while of racing madly.
Nothing seems to be bringing the revs down, and hitting the stop lever doesn't switch it off, have to switch off the fuel fast or turn key off. Not sure what stupid thing I did, but I'm pretty panicked about getting it working before the next round of outages. Too big for my little car, so need someone who can collect from Orange Grove/Bramley area or look at it on site, and who knows them well enough to be able to fix whatever I screwed up. So angry I could kick myself. Not looking to troubleshoot it online, as there are so many things it could be like the fuel mix, injector, throttle...I dunno....lots of stuff. I know about lots of things, know nothing about generators though.
Pipe isn't leaking anymore though. :whistling:
Anyone know someone who can help?

How long you had this genie running until it started with the leak?
Fairly new, hasn't got many hours on it. But has a flaw where there is a right angled pipe that goes into the tap, and it isn't threaded in, just pressed in. So it backs out on it's own, and allows fuel to leak out. Pressing it in only last a few minutes.
I eventually epoxied it in, and when that came loose, used better epoxy and made sure it shouldn't come out. I am pretty sure the fault isn't there though, has to be elsewhere, and think it might be mechanical rather than electrical.
It really races, and won't switch off with the stop lever. Have to use the key or cut the fuel. 10 seconds of running and it looks like it is about to burst into flames.
Will try dillingers guy, hoping he is good with mechanical as well as electrical. Can't bear to go through shedding without a gennie.

Any luck guys?

Please can someone recommend me someone who can repair diesel generator. I've tried contacting Ellie's on numerous occasions but they're rather useless and just tell me to email them and never get back to me.
