Been reading up all about wug's and with a bit more saving would like to get one of the kits from http://www.scoopdistribution.co.za/index.php?cPath=49_78

Whats the difference between kit K3 and K5?

K3 is a 19dBi while K4 is a 27dBi and includes something called a UT4 enclosure?

Which the better dBi to get? Is it the lower the value the better the reception?

Miro also offer similar devices but seem slightly more expensive.

What's wideband? What does that mean? Doesn't Miro and Scoop stock the same equipment?

WUG KIT 3
- 5.1-5.8GHz 19dBi Integrated Enclosure
- RouterBoard 433, 3 Ethernet, 3 miniPCI
- Mikrotik R52 Wireless MiniPCI Card
- UFL - SMA Male
- 5.1-5.8GHz 27dBi Grid Antenna
- UFL To N-Type Female Bulkhead
- N-Type Male - N-Type Male 1M
- POE 15V South African Version
- Water proofing kit: Butyl Tape 25mmx3mmx1M / Black Nitto Tape

WUG KIT 5
- UT4 enclosure & Stainless Steel pole mount brackets
- Mikrotik RouterBoard 433, 3 Ethernet, 3 miniPCI
- Mikrotik R52 Wireless MiniPCI Card
- 5.1-5.8GHz 27dBi Grid Antenna
- UFL To N-Type Female Bulkhead 300mm
- N-Type Male - N-Type Male 1M
- POE 15V South African Version
- Water proofing kit: Butyl Tape 25mmx3mmx1M / Black Nitto Tape

the above is copied from scoop site. Wug kit 3 has a panel antenna built into the enclosure AS WELL AS A GRID, so you can use the grid to connect to a highsite and use the panel (by buying anothe R52 radio) to broadcast so other wuggers can connect to you.

Miro also offer similar devices but seem slightly more expensive.
Miro's standard wug kit (which is the same as scoop's wug kit 5) is R1655 excl, they dropped their prices, mail justin@miro.co.za for a quote

Get Kit 3. You have an extra 19dbi integraded panel in the enclosure to use for a second link/re-transmitting the link. (think ahead) :D

As for the Miro/wideband issue, seems like a while ago some attenna's were sold that does not support as wide a range as the scoop attenna's. Will send Protzie here to explain that.
