Hi all

I see CW offers different FTTH packages, based on think who put the fiber down.

In my area I know it was OpenServe the last 2 months so said ye them, but question, is there a difference, and since I've seen OpenServe put the fiber down, could I have opted for say the Vuma option?

No you can't, Vumatel is a different network and you can only use Vumatel packages on Vumatel. What you are asking for is the equivalent of wanting to use your ADSL data on a Cell C LTE connection.

Then why would the CW site have a offer FTTH and list OpenServe, Vuma and x.

You're asking why their website would list all the networks they offer services on? Must be one of those companies that aims to make a profit.

It depends on which fibre providers cover your area, there might only be one for all you know. They are giving you options.
The charges between fibre providers differ so the isp bundled package prices (which is what you see on their site) will vary based on who you chose as the access provider.

If both Vuma and Openserve have fibre in your area, then you can choose to go with either.

CW will offer you service on both.

(I stand to be corrected, but Vuma and Openserve appear not to overlap their areas of installation, so it's a moot point)

ok, in line with what i was thinking, as the fiber in my area was deployed by OpenServe I can only use them, with CW being my service provider, in other areas someone else might have done the deployment, which means for them it will be that provider and CW.

Your best bet is to contact cw with your physical address and ask them what fibre providers you have access to, you never know.

There are one or two places that they overlap; Bryanston where I am is one example. I don't think they do it very often, though, because it doesn't make too much sense from a profitability perspective.
