Position is based in Cape Town
Description: Digital Designer duties
• Create designs and assets for use on our website, brand and social media platforms that meet the given brief
• Work closely with the Content and Marketing teams to create social content and marketing campaigns
• Design all social content, including the ideation thereof
• Design digital banners in Flash and HTML 5 that are compatible with web and mobile devices
• Maintain the high visual standards of the Marketing department as a whole
• Create mock-ups to present ideas and the execution thereof
• Bring fresh, innovative ideas and approaches to your work
• Estimate the time required to complete the work for the required project
• Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
• Produce accurate and high-quality work that aligns with the brand
Personal Attributes required
• Passion and enthusiasm for design, with a creative flair
• Adopts a flexible approach when working in a team, but able to work independently
• Good presentation skills and the confidence to explain and sell ideas to colleagues
• Time management skills and the ability to cope with several projects at a time
• Outstanding project management skills including the ability to prioritise and multitask
• Attentive to details when finalising designs
• Willingness to make changes to your designs based on feedback received
Minimum Required Experience
• Minimum relevant tertiary degree or diploma in Graphic Design or Digital Design
• 2+ years of Graphic Design or Digital Design experience
• Experience in brand development, including imagery and logo design
Other Requirements
• Good understanding of layout and graphic design principles
• Good understanding of multi-platform layouts and standards, as well as the usability and interaction of design concepts
• Ability to apply responsive and adaptive techniques
• Knowledge of hardware e.g. Mac, PC based platforms etc.
• Knowledge of software packages e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator etc.
• Understanding of file formats, file transfer and optimisation
