Digital TV migration is behind schedule, but happening

If anyone actually expected those time lines to be followed, they are simpletons.
It's not like the migration had an abysmal history before the latest time line announcement...

They can't to anything to facilitate the migration because the off button was stolen a while ago.

Digital TV migration is behind schedule, but happening
Yup, just like the building of Medupi and Kusile. It is "behind schedule" but still happening, and mired in corruption

Communications minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams was still switching off analogue transmitters in Bethlehem’s Dihlabeng Local Municipality on Monday 17 May
It might go quicker if she gets someone else to do it.

Maybe they should advertise a tender to switch off the bloody machines.

HTH does your country function? Or is this a very long term prospect, like never? Anything positive from SA?

So by tomorrow 3 provinces will no longer be able to pickup Isidingo and MNet open time anymore on their braaigrid antennas?
  • Free State – March 2021
  • Northern Cape – April 2021
  • North West – May 2021

And there are flat screen TV's still being sold without digital tuners, doesn't make sense.
Why would we want a digital tuner if it requires a licence fee? What reasonable content could we tune into it with when we have so many other options from reading content from a storage device to streaming it online? What have they actually produced that I personally would be interested in viewing and paying for? Why do they believe that I should blindly pay money to them for content that they have nothing to do with producing?

Answer: Fooking NADA.

Compilation and execution completed with zero errors and zero warnings - No valid content found. Session Ends: <now>

Why not ask the cable thieves to tender for ripping up the cables to specific towers at a given date. The payment will be in copper. That should switch the towers off.
