Firstly let me apologise for this crosspost - I initially posted on the general forum, whereas this is the more appropriate one. I take the newbie defence on this one, will be more careful in future.
Anyway ...
Last weekend I had perfectly acceptable ADSL access to www.launchcast.com - a personalised Internet radio service from Yahoo.
Since Friday evening 12 Mar I tried to access and got DNS error/server not found. Tried with my IS dialup and get access. On ADSL, can ping, but cannot get to the home page.
Is anyone aware of a Telkom policy that goes beyond just shaping ie beyond de-prioritising traffic types, and goes as far as blocking sites? If so, I feel this is a form of censorship that should be challenged.

I don't think they are blocking sites. Firstly they have absolutely no reason to block the site you have stated as it in no way threatens them. Secondly in SA it is unconstitutional to block access to information. Telkom may get away with screwing over their customers and competition but they would never get away with blocking information.

Thanks to Andre who posted a reply against my original post to teh general forum - that knowledge forced me to look further - I reset my browser, removed all history, deleted all files and cookies, and after rebooting, I am back listening to my personal radio station again. Apologies to all for the false alarm.
