It is mostly the brain drain to perth I lose my sleep on.Ask Spur about their financial hit when they pissed off the boertjies - took them years to recover and they still haven't.
You seem to have trouble following a conversation. He made the leap so I was using his absurd logic. And the Nazi thing was marine which you also seem to have missed. Typical.Where do you get all this straw from...you seem to specialize in these types of ""arguments".
It is time for big business to stand up to the ANC.This is the the stated and enforced BEE policy for all JSE listed companies. They have no choice in this matter. They face ongoing fines for non compliance. Don't blame the companies for what is an ANC racist policy. You should be waging this war at the ballot box. Punishing the employees of Dischem for what is an ANC policy is not really fair.
This guy? One of the ten richest people in SA I believe. Bending to ANC policies seems to work for him.Well, looking at that letter I think they should appoint those blacks anyway, they will grow into their roles, just like the CEO.
LOL as a start there will be no load shedding, close to that lower unemployment, economic growth.Imagine if there was no lekker BEE. The likes of rvZA, Vrotappel and Ron Swanson would finally be able to find jobs. The economy would be rescued due to their brilliance and we'd all live happily ever after.
Blacks will be victims forever. Just look at the USA.Guys, here’s the problem with BEE: it never ends. No one has quantified the economic damage of Apartheid and set a “reparations amount” to be paid (how could you?), and a value for each BEE hire. Or if it’s a total percentage of the workforce, how many jobs exactly are we talking about, and how many currently-employed white people will need to be fired / frozen out over time? Never mind the fact that the younger white South Africans affected now are being blamed for the sins of their parents.
We want a South Africa free from racial bias and opportunities for all … right? Didn’t we all agree that was the dream? We’re not going to get there with BEE in tow.
If the goal of BEE is to return all South Africa to economic prosperity, we can all agree that’s an impossible goal. There aren’t enough jobs, period. Nor will there ever be in South Africa. How can we achieve economic growth in an environment where we don’t trust each other and where government is forcing us which players to pick onto our teams?
Yes this Dischem thing sucks, but it’s the discussion happening all over South African boardrooms every day. I don’t blame Dischem for wanting that sweet sweet government tender money, or the other carrots government had laid. I blame them for the tone of that letter and its implications for South Africans like me. Personally I will make a conscious effort from now to not support Dischem.
This is exactly the sort of “us and them” mentality that BEE entrenches in South Africa and which pisses all over the dream of a rainbow nation. I prefer a South Africa where we can all just get along together, do the best damn job we can do, get employed based on merit, and move into the future rather than stay mired in the past.Blacks will be victims forever. Just look at the USA.
You think whites know how to run a country? Some whites got a chance and their solution was Apartheid. If only blacks knew how to run a country we would not have needed BEE.
Yeah. This basic tribalism is exactly what keeps the ANC in power. This is exactly the sort of “us and them” mentality that BEE entrenches in South Africa and which pisses all over the dream of a rainbow nation. I prefer a South Africa where we can all just get along together, do the best damn job we can do, get employed based on merit, and move into the future rather than stay mired in the past.
Then go complain to the non-whites who are stopping that.
And yet which political parties take a stand against BEE? Even opposition parties are mostly mum on the topic. In fact the DA as I recall is actively in favour of it. So yeah…Anyone who thinks all these race based laws and policies are good for our country is delusional.
Non-whites? Which ones specifically? Anyone who can’t pass the comb test? And other scientific measures like that? Eish. You want people to agree with you, you’ll want to come across a bit more moderate. Then go complain to the non-whites who are stopping that.
Last I checked it's not wit ous making the racist policies. It's exclusively non-whites in government who are.
The ones who do seem to think they're winning something over the white man.Anyone who thinks all these race based laws and policies are good for our country is delusional.
Here my opinion, as being neither black not white. Dischem is in business to make money, and to be a successful business in this country at this time, means that it's management team is a competent one.You think whites know how to run a country? Some whites got a chance and their solution was Apartheid.
We ALL need to move beyond our racial biases, or you’ll get stuck playing an unwinnable game with rules noone wants.
