That's the understatement of the year.

Also, I'm not aware there is any real media censorship in South Africa today. Political, I should say... Obviously some things are still deemed illegal
That is because via the BEE scheme, the ANC has party officials on the levers of power in most big media houses. It is almost worse than outright censorship.
Go and find an article on news24, by a writer employed by news24, stating a policy idea by the ANC is a bad idea. Like expropriation without compensation, NHI or state racism.

There are plenty of active critics in the media and even pro DA writers like Gareth Van Onselen. The NP would have never tolerated something like that.

It's quite shocking that some here who rant about how the media today is not to be trusted actually blindly believe all pro-Apartheid propaganda.
I didn't need the media to tell me that I didn't have to lock my door and surround the house with razor wire back then.

What's your point? Tribal/political killings where/are a thing. Anyway, your 2019 stat isn't some kind of achievement and is still head and shoulders above all the other countries.
It actually points out just how ineffective corporal punishment even the death penalty was/is. Studies shows that people were more likely to commit crimes again when receiving corporal punishment compared to imprisonment. How about that, please explain.

Please explain the following and why you deem it effective, considering the negative impact. Because it only impacted a minority it is deemed acceptable.Slavery was deemed acceptable look at it now.
Developmental growth issues
Mental health issues
Physical abuse

What does political and tribal killings have to do with the murder rate ?. You are subtly implying white people didn't commit murder because of our upbringing or crime for that matter, what a wonderful sheltered life you must have lived to be so oblivious.

South Africa has 117 documented serial killers among them a teacher from mitchells plain convicted of 1 murder and rape of an 11 year old, but suspected of 22 at least 6 being confirmed.

I'm not going to waste my time, clearly your jaded view is unique to what others experienced.

So you just like looking at graphs but have zero clue what they represent? If you did, perhaps looked at my question, you'd not stepped into that one.

My brother in Christ.

Its almost as if a group of people deliberately embarked on a campaign of violence in the country:

https://omalley.nelsonmandela.org/o...q/03lv02424/04lv02730/05lv02918/06lv02923.htm

That little line there was the ANC's justification to murder any black opposition to apartheid. That was the reason why the murder rate was so high.
Why is then still high ? It never went below the 1948 mark, when harsh apartheid laws were introduced, when the national party took office. If your article is to believe why hasn't the murder rate stabilized to pre 1948 mark. if you look at other countries stats most of them stayed relatively stable with some only showing a modest increase. It was steadily increasing regardless of the helping hand of the ANC. With your logic there should be no reason for it still to be so high right ?. Exclude alleged political killings were would graph lie then. Was going to increase regardless. It is increasing again. Lets blame the ANC for every thing, but your self, it's the quick and easy solution.

Don't buy it, sorry.

Yeah me neither. Because I am jaded, and you are sheltered.....

The ANC has made a lot of mistakes but the biggest, imo, is not focusing large amounts of money and resources on educating the population of this country properly.

Money/budget is not the issue.

The murder rate hasn't stabilised because the ANC benefits from a corrupt and underfunded police force. If you know you are corrupt, the last thing you want is a police force that is good at its job.

Again, this is the country that the voters want.

Abuse is not the same thing as discipline. I see the ban is working wonders. /s

Getting back to Dis-Chem, I'm even more disappointed that they so quite, obviously trying to ride out the storm.

My R 1000+ that I spend a month a Dis-Chem will not make them broke if I take my money elsewhere but I hope a few more like me will do the same.

Maybe that will get the message across that white SA is not only relevant as cash cows, we are also good employees.

Maybe the queues will be a bit shorter....
Any idiot who thinks that Clicks or any other pharmacy chain doesn't have the same policy is a moron....
