They could have been even better and richer if they were allowed to participate in the economy equally all those years. It's like trying to convince a person covered in **** that they smell less horrible than other people covered in **** from other countries.
Many of us could have been better of if something nice happened to our forefathers in history.

Life happened and you cannot change history.

When the whites arrived here the moralities of today did not exist. They were 2000 years more advanced than Africa. It will take a long time for this to disappear.

I mean in parts of Africa the slave trade is still going strong.

Why would the inequality reports show that white people are still earning 4 times as much as black people?

I am not picking on you specifically, merely using your comment as a starting point...

In general, and I really do mean in general, most policies claiming to address the wrongs of the past, do so not by uplifting those negatively affected but by trying to hold back those that were positively or at the least not affected. I saw that video of a bunch of people asked questions and then taking steps across a field to show what 'privilege' really means this last weekend somewhere on social media. While I understand what they are trying to convey, the ideas in place to address the inequality always seem to be aimed at forcing the less privileged through the 'system' many times by holding the privileged back in some way. My explanation is simple and really general, I know, but I still fail to understand how this came about instead of getting the basics right like education, training, support, etc. to those that need it while letting those that don't live their lives.

It is even more ridiculous when you look at South Africa specifically where whites are outnumbered by a lot but still targeted with the idea that not giving a white person an opportunity somehow creates an opportunity a black person never would have. I can't get my head around it but then I am from what some would call an incredibly privileged back ground thanks to my parents hard work and sacrifice.

Well, I don't believe in immigration control or borders. People are people, where you were born shouldn't matter in the least.

The world isn't globalized and each nation has limited resources. Other nations have vastly different cultures with many of them filled with oppression and discrimination.

Opening borders will start WW3.

They might have withdrawn the memo. They are still going to follow the AA and EE rules.

The coulda woulda shoulda argument could apply anywhere, people didn't have to come to Africa, they could have fought over their own finite resources up North and Europe also would have been a very different continent today. I get your point tho, things happened, they're done.

The slave trade is happening in very many countries, human trafficking is still a huge problem - all countries have their history.

And even if you get rid of BEE today, the ANC and their corruption will still be here tomorrow. The point is to get rid of the ANC, and create better upliftment programs.

How long did Apartheid last? How many generations were affected? This isn't about revenge, this is to paint a picture of how much of an advantage people lost based on their generations. We shouldn't look to the past, we should look to now, who is poor now, who needs jobs now.

There are a lot of policies that need to change, BEE is just one of them.

As I said, the ANC needs to go and corruption needs to be stamped out first and foremost - BEE wouldn't even be as bad as it is if it weren't for corruption amplifying it times 100.
You are arguing in circles, and contradicting yourself.
You agree that racism (BEE and AA) is wrong, is racist, and that the best person for the job should be appointed.

You also argue that the "historic background" of the person should be taken into account, and that the job should be given to the "most disadvantaged" - don't give the gold medal to the guy that won - give it to the guy that came last.

Here's how it should be.
Give everyone equal opportunity, but don't expect (enforce) equal outcome.
Stop awarding the medals for winners to losers.

I agree but here we are.

Still need to get rid of racist BEE policies since not only is it discrimination it is hurting this economy to a level beyond repair.

Redistributing the pie into ever decreasing sizes, until nobody has enough pie, rather than just making a bigger pie?

Sounds legit.

Ja right. They'll still do it quietly like every other place.
