I don't think we even have anything like that around here anymore. Same goes for where to buy groceries. The only exception is meat for which there are still a couple of butchers nearby.

With regards to capitalism I still have some sort of choice. With regards to the ANC I am forced by law.

Major Boredom, could the name be a clue? maybe he lives in the middle of nowhere and getting to Dischem was a chore anyway so it's much easier to move to a small pharmacy that you have been avoiding all along for some reason.

I live in a major metro. Probably 5 different pharmacies within 5km from different brands.
4 shopping centers within 5 km.
Groceries I have access to a family run business, Meat the same.
I am starting to really think where I spend my money. Even if the alternative is slightly more expensive.

This is wider than just Dischem. Think about rates and taxes where effectively you get f all for what you give.
Think Solar. Think alternative water solutions.

That's a very fine comment on the subject, turns out the poster does not stay in the middle of nowhere but instead in a big city, what's the problem?
