I put my rates and taxes through Clicks for ebucks. I support the local pharmacy due to the talent working there.

I don't see how there can be a push back. It is the courts who need to be convinced, and that isn’t going to happen. In my view, all empowerment legislation needs to be reviewed and even such a process will take many years with various disagreeing committees, advocacy and regulatory boards. I can only see it accelerate.

Giving small businesses ‘EE’ exemption is the biggest compromise made by the state, but every business should have growth targets, hence empowerment targets would also need to be achieved, and procurement and sectoral codes still apply. Minorities need to eat the cake, reasonability is governed by the state and the Constitution.

Harmfull policies and state failure goes hand in hand.

A 1% growth in our economy will do much more than trying to limit the employment of 7% of the economy.

Nobody has got any idea how much this BEE and AA policies have cost this country.

There are plenty of people from India working in IT in USA and UK. The Google CEO is from India Sundar Pichai.

You seem irrationally fixated on pointing out peoples Indian ancestry, Surface and another user Pak Fa Fui. Did your wife perhaps leave you for a guy from India which caused your weird obsession?

Correct. Their IT certificates are recognised in the first world. Our Indian guys are here because they can't get there. Why would you work in a third world sh*th*le if you have the qualifications to work in a state of the art first world country?

That's what I thought, but he was being cagey so I was starting to think there was some none BEE fuel refinery going on in the Karoo. I am of course obliged to report such things so I was hoping to wrestle some details out of him.

It's okay if he is still filling the Hilux with approved fuel from one of the the BEE suppliers.

There is only a single refinery left in SA and it will be closing soon. 8 have closed recently. The imported fuel has a tiny BEE component. and diminishing.

Socialism is, like capitalism, a very broad term. But there is as much stealing, at least, and amoral behaviour in capitalism, so at best they're a wash. Only those who blindly worship capitalism can't see this.

Other People's Money could quite frankly easily have been a documentary. It is a very true reflection of exactly how moral, and respecting of people and their property capitalism truly is.
You have a nasty habit of quoting me, but removing the tag. Why are you purposefully making it difficult for me to see your response?

Explain the stealing in capitalism?

Wow! I had to read it twice ... this poster's logic and thus IQ certainly questionable.

Not true.

If you earn a very high salary and live in an upmarket estate in SA, your quality of life can be better in SA than in many Western countries.

There are also more rich dual Euro/SA citizens than the Mybroederbond would like to think who have chosen to live in SA than Europe due to lower cost of living.

Ive seen a few Indian guys from India working in IT in JHB for the big companies like Absa and Multichoice. They are probably on high salaries and Im pretty sure their quality of life here is better than it would have been in a few Western countries.

With all its faults, SA can be a great country to live in if you are rich. The Herzov's and co just lie that they have chosen to settle here because they want to make a difference selflessly.

This includes the Apartheid Governments radical WEE and WEE in private sector which really influenced the introduction of BEE.
Early start I see... Well done... Catch that wyt worm... Good thing there are no black business councils or anything like that these days to look after black interests

And yet ANC has been running the show since 1994..but here we are... No electric... Fkd economy...some of the highest crime rates in the works..knackered roads... No water...

Mr Facts Unlimited himself, with all his skills and his qualifications having worked in over 20 countries is still here in the same s***hole but he is critical of others who come here, but as usual the irony is totally lost on him.

And despite his qualifications and ability to get jobs internationally, he chooses to stay and supposedly "be oppressed due to BEE".

I have worked with and in a few of the banks and finance houses.
While their salaries are good, I would not say they are above the curve

I suppose it is all determined and what you deem is high.

IT imo is a very fickle industry. Yes, there are some ( the low minority ) who earn really well, but most are on a pretty poor salary.

High salaries in SA are not high salaries in first world countries they could be earning with good IT certificates. And when most of your population lives in slums, a run of the mill home in a first world country is upmarket in SA. Try to process that.

If SA's IT sector is so good, why are there so many hacks in SA? And why do those that can leave for first world countries?

Only because the ANC ruined the currency. I should have left instead of believing SA would come right. I now know it won't.
