Have not been inside a Clicks since this incident. But even very little, if ever, before it. Either way, of late all the small moms and pops pharmacies got all my business as they are the ones selling gout kits and migraine kits where Dischem refused to. Probably been to our Dischem twice the past two years. Now I simply won't visit them any longer.

I use mom and pop pharmacies too. The pharmacist gets to know his customers personally and his mother helps out. R16 for 100 paracetamol generic tabs and Vit b tabs also cheap. The big BEE, AA and EE franchises can get stuffed.

got a local mom & pop walking distance from the house that I support as well

but when it comes to buying stuff in bulk or looking for decent discounts it invariably is either Clicks or Dischem that can offer it and nobody else unfortunately

What is the point complaining about it when it will achieve nothing? Solidarity reported the government to the ILO, and the case has since been promoted to a trial phase, but I can't see them succeed. There are simply too many interests at stake. Point me to one nation which opposes our state policies on restitution.

Still sounded like their ceo had a few whiskeys and pissed off when he sent that mail.

I don’t blame him since the wording sounded like he’s over BEE. But has to do it to comply.
If it were my business, I'd have no issue hiring black people. I'd have a major problem hiring anyone who belongs to the legalised criminal enterprises known as unions.

Unfortunately there's no way to know without asking and possibly breaking some bs law because you asked and they weren't hired...

Looks very difficult for Dischem to do business in SA. No worries, I do not want to make it more difficult for them.... there are many other smaller mom & pop pharmacies I would rather support from today.

Good. The chains are good for buying shampoo but for your health its best to stay with people who know you well. Just how you dont jump to 6 different GPs you shouldnt be jumping pharmacists and dont have corporate targets to meet

His name sounds white. Maybe he should resign and give 51% of shares to black people. That will sort out his bee compliance there and then.

Put your money where your mouth is.

With local mom n pops, the money stays in the area, unlike big chainstores where money flows back to head office.

Yeah. Always interesting that some of the biggest advocates of transformation are white people who have generated enormous wealth and thus are basically advocating a cost-free policy from a personal point of view.

What an arse licker.

This is the the stated and enforced BEE policy for all JSE listed companies. They have no choice in this matter. They face ongoing fines for non compliance. Don't blame the companies for what is an ANC racist policy. You should be waging this war at the ballot box. Punishing the employees of Dischem for what is an ANC policy is not really fair.

Or it's not a personal but a business point of view?
