Disable AI in whatsapp

Basically the problem you have is that you don't trust them when they say they don't read them.
Exactly you got it is one, do you think that meta and google get where they are being the nice guys?
How many times have they been slapped on the wrist or fined for going too far?
The EU is not tolerating it any longer, and neither should any of us, the POPI Act is a dog with no teeth.

LOL.

I don't care what they do with group chats and chats with AI.

That is great for you and your chums but not for the rest of us that went with Whatsapp because it was secure communications and usable for personal information such as password, bank details etc. that you would never, I hope, send unencrypted.

Now that Meta has taken over it is longer safe.

So I again am sending a warning out there not to get lulled into a false sense of security because whatsapp messages may still be Encrypted, but it is not safe from the Meta AI and its notorious data mining.

If the Meta AI can't give a damn about copyright laws why should it care anything about your personal data integrity?

Do people really do this though? People use whatsapp because it's what everyone else uses.

They used to yes. That is what it was intended for and why journalists amongst others adopted it for secure communications.
then along came meta who turned it into just another sosial media chat app.

Your problem is you don't believe secure chats with anyone is secure.

They say AI only has access to chats with itself, not other chats. But you don't bite. What are you going to do?

What I am not going to do is activate the AI and that is why I, and hundreds of other users, want the option to remove the AI button from our devices.

If meta want your data do you really think having an AI tool enabled or not is going to make the slightest bit of difference?

They have to follow Laws about data privacy and security.

If they say they do, people still won't believe it
Neither do the EU:

The EU has so far fined Meta almost 3 billion euros for breaches under the bloc's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) introduced in 2018, including a record 1.2 billion euro fine in 2023 that Meta is appealing. And according to Reuters the EU privacy regulator has since added fines to Meta 251 million euros for 2018 breach.

But go ahead and trust them if you wish, just don't try to radicle the rest of us who do not ;)

I don't ridicule you, I think you're overly paranoid.

What have you been up to that you're so afraid of meta finding out?

It is not what I have to hide I just don't have anything I want to share, and especially not things that my family and friends have said in private on a secure encrypted chat.

Now I am afraid I have run out of Troll food so time to move on.
;)
