Disappearing airtime on contract

Hi all,

I noticed the last few days that my Vodacom airtime is disappearing quite quickly despite me not using it (I make no phone calls, and have data bundles for my browsing).

As a litmus test I loaded R20 airtime when my balance showed zero and checked it after a day. The balance depleted by exactly R10.

I haven't (knowingly) subscribed to any of those WASP services unless it was hidden inside a webpage somehow and I clicked it. I didn't get any notification or confirmation of subscription and according to this article I should have been asked for confirmation. The only websites I browse are MyBB, Wikipedia and GSMarena.com

I sent an SMS containing the words STOP ALL to 30333 but haven't had any response as of yet.

I am on a Vodacom Topup contract and have had my subscriber number for the last 8 years.

Anyone here in a similar boat? I am mega frustrated as I am losing R10 a day probably for the last two weeks now with no idea how it started

I just received an SMS saying the 30333 number isn't valid as per the article and to send the same SMS to 31050.

Immediately I received a reply saying I have been unsubscribed from Mobiteacher with effect from 2017-09-28.

How the hell was I subscribed in the first place and why did I not receive a double opt-in prompt if Vodacom rolled this out in 2011?
