Discord launches server subscriptions, lets creators charge up to R3,500 a month

Discord will soon let more server owners offer subscriptions for exclusive content and features at price tiers ranging from $2.99 (R53) to $199.99 (R3,514).

Only eligible server owners in the US have access for now, and Discord's Server Subscription feature went live on Thursday, 1 December 2022.

I can actually see businesses subscribe to this. Discord is heavily commercialised nowadays. Back in the day businesses build their own community, then along came Reddit and Discord, and now with many showing disapproval towards Twitter, Discord will want to cash in even though the same “Twitter Blue” principles will apply.
