Discovery allowing all under 35s to book for Covid-19 vaccine

Covid-19 vaccination bookings open to under 35s

South Africans aged between 18 and 34 can now make a booking for a Covid-19 vaccination through Discovery.

The platform is open to all South Africans — you don't have to hold a Discovery product or be a Discovery medical aid member to sign up for it.

Quite busy at Dischem Centurion this morning.
Helped the last 4 get their vaccines there.
Only 4 out of 30 people over 60 got an appointment SMS. We were able to change the booking to Dischem
In and out with all 4 in 45 minutes!
Compared to the 5 - 6 hour marathons at the public clinics, it was a breeze!

Yeah, once you're registered just find a place that takes walk-ins and get it. In my experience, most people don't get the 2nd SMS with an appointment.

To be honest, if they made you get the vaccine at 17h30 on a Thursday at a bottle store, the whole of SA would be vaccinated by now.

He's probably just hesitant because a lot of walk-in info has been provided in threads here.

Remember, no drinking alcohol for 2 months after the jab.

Any source for this? Did ask when I got my jab but was told it's "just not advisable to drink within 72hrs" nothing else.

Neither have I, and I have been shown away at walk-ins due to not having a voucher, neither can I book without a voucher. Discovery's own system cannot slot a booking because it is borked, and their support isn't supportive. I contacted the Health Department, and they send me a generic message that I have to wait until I receive a voucher code via SMS.

I have exhausted all option, in two days I will be waiting 30 days since registration. I assume now that people living in more dense populated areas receive special treatment, however there are other discrepancies I am not going to discuss here. I am done wasting my time, the ball is in the state's court, I did my part to register.

Neither have I, and I have been shown away at walk-ins due to not having a voucher, neither can I book without a voucher. Discovery's own system cannot slot a booking because it is borked, and their support isn't supportive. Check the Dischem site. I booked on that and got my vaccination details the next day. Discovery's followed 2 weeks later after having booked 4 weeks prior.
