Discovery Miles more valuable than cash

Discovery Miles is more valuable than cash as a currency due to the added discounts and benefits clients receive when using the rewards currency to purchase goods and services.

Vitality members are set to earn more than 10 billion Discovery Miles in 2024, equivalent to a potential rand value of around R1.4 billion.

“Discovery Miles is more valuable”

And no, they are not more valuable than cash.
Cash can be spent almost anywhere, exchanged for other currency, etc.

Discovery miles not so much, and the time factor is apparently forgotten in this article. If my time isn’t factored in then Discovery doesn’t understand what’s valuable to me.

So the closer you get to death, the more Discovery Miles are like cash.

Daily Discovery plug piece. Wait, this is a new one.

No, quite the opposite. Time gets more valuable as it becomes more scarce. It takes time to plan, earn and spend discovery miles.

Give it time. They'll nerf discovery bucks the same way they nerf'd ebucks. or they'll just make it more difficult to earn them.
Nothing just beats cashback. Cash is king. I think amex still give you 1% back in their membership rewards points which are redeemable for cash. Just no one accepts amex.

Luckily no one accepts amex otherwise you and I pay.

Ah, I thought you were talking about being unable to invest them and earn returns.

Except that you can convert Discovery Miles to money and then use it to pay for things, save for a rainy day or invest and earn returns. I do with my Discovery Miles and my Standard Bank uCount points…

I can make way more billing clients.

I did a ninja edit but not quick enough, it doesn’t take up much of my time at all and I don’t go out of my way to do anything related to Discovery Miles.
But you still pay for the savings. No such thing as a free lunch.
