I think he is correct, in that you can get your workouts synced, but the daily steps I dont think will sync.

Because it is a daily activity, not a workout. There is standardised formats to share workouts, but not daily activities. For step counting you better off with something that sync that directly to Vitality, like the fitbit devices ect.

So we're left with getting Discovery to sync directly with TomTom? The alternative would be convincing TomTom to log step count with Apple Health.

As far as I can see, steps isnt really supported in mapmyfitness, runkeeper and strava.
Steps do seem to be supported on Garmin Connect.
Rather ask TomTom to sync to Garmin Connect which is international norm/standard, and vitality will probably sync that just fine.

Been experimenting the past week. I seem to have confused them a bit as last weeks goal is "pending" :) I did notice that both devices are pretty much spot on and only differ by a few steps.

Apple Watch under reading by +-5% going to try the calibrate walk later but I'm enjoying my beer reward right now :)

So will the tomtom at least be able to sync treadmill runs through myf or strava to vitality?

Probably. As long as you have the most expensive option at Makro, or a compatible bluetooth smart heart rate belt with it the cheaper versions.

I'm trying to understand something...I have a garmin vivosmart HR and my intensity minutes are not working right. On Saturday, I changed the start of my week on Garmin Connect to Saturday so that it would coincide with Discovery's start of the new cycle. On my phone and on the website it states that I have 0 Intensity Minutes, which is correct for this week but the device is still reading 79/150 minutes which is from last week. Any idea how to get both device and connect site to agree with each other?

I just did the update now, and I can login no problem. Everything else seems to be working fine as well.

Gave the strap to my wife to use last night at gym.

Worked well. Recorded without any hassles and could monitor the HR zones with ease. I started recording as we started (low HR) so just missed the vigorous workout.. Think next time I'll wait till the HR is in the 130s before starting the record :) Also paused it twice between the different machines. Is that the right/best way to do it?

Seeing as the electrodes are in the strap... if that goes and we need to get a new strap, will the replacement polar ones be compatible? Makro probably won't be carrying these devices for ever, so maybe buy a few extra? Hmm...

^^ What app you using to monitor HR?

Getting heart palpitations since I started pushing hard at gym 3 weeks ago, so I've laid off any exercise for the past 9 days. Probably need to go get it checked out :(

I've got the Polar strap and have been using it for 4/5 years without issues.. it even gets chucked in the washing machine whenever it needs a thorough clean...

I got the Apple Watch through Vitality about 6 weeks ago. Really easy to hit the goals as the HR monitor on it is pretty good. Barring the barrage of support tickets they are getting, I am pretty happy with Vitality at the moment. 100% off gym fees, free Apple Watch (so far), and 2 coffees a week.

Cant complain.
