^^ What app you using to monitor HR?

Getting heart palpitations since I started pushing hard at gym 3 weeks ago, so I've laid off any exercise for the past 9 days. Probably need to go get it checked out :(

Muvit HRM into Wahoo into both MMF & Garmin Connect

Wahoo gives me the nicest layout during the workout (with burn zones & current/max/avg readings)

Palpatations.. oy vey.. Take it easy mate

So just to clear it up, the only device you have is this R400 HR monitor, and that works to get HR points? Suppose i could also use my phone for steps points as well. Much cheaper than these R3k fitband devices

Yup, only that R399 Muvit HRM (rebranded igotU HRM) with a compatible Android 4.3+ or iphone phone. Use the correct APP and you get your heartrate points.

I didnt get the Apple Watch, because a) I dont have an iphone and b) I dont have a discovery credit card, and dont plan to get either any time soon.

Awesome! I see you use 2 apps (Wahoo and Garmin). Any reason for that?

I'll probably copy you on this. Easier to get points with the HRM?

No I only use Wahoo, which links to vitality via garmin, runkeeper, strava, mapmyfitness, so that if Vitality have issues with 1, it still syncs for points via 1 of the others.

Cool, thanks. I wonder if S-health would be able to handle the HR data and transmit to discovery. Will give it a try. But for now, I guess I have to order the thing first

Can anyone help me to understand this.
I have the S520 polar heart rate monitor. when I work out, the calories I burn amount to X.
If I leave the S520 polar heart rate monitor at home and go to GYM wearing the H7 heart rate sensor and monitor it via Polar Beat on my Iphone, at more or less the same duration of exercise and at the same intensity, the calories burned are about 50% less than with S520!

what is your weight and age on the watch vs on the phone?

Is the Muvit HRM exclusively online at Makro or is it available elsewhere?
As far as I know. Though I asked Makro Cape Gate to order them so that I can go buy it instore with a voucher (which is not allowed online). They had 10 in stock last week friday, I took 2. So your other option is, if you can wait, ask the inventory at your closest Makro to order it so you can buy it instore, use the voucher payment method as excuse if you have to.

Has anyone else done the new Discovery Vitality fitness test? The one where you go to a biokineticist?

I did it today, and apparently my body fat percentage is 6.7%. Yeah, um no that is impossible! From eyeballing myself in the mirror, there is no way in hell my body fat percentage is below 10. Probably not below 15 actually.

So either the bio took the readings wrong, or, the way the readings are used to calculate body fat percentage is wrong. Weirdly the bio defended the result and said this test gives different readings (in terms of body fat percentage) to the one from last year, so the results are not directly comparable.

Depends on where you do it. Where I do it, they now 2 times in a row, year after year, gave me a result of 16% bf which I guess is fairly accurate enough given for me.

Anyone else with Garmin struggling with a workout upload? Last week, my workout activities synced really quickly and awarded my points...today my steps have been acknowledged but I did just over an hour of a work out with HR well over 70% and it is not been recorded or allocated...does this happen to anyone else occasionally. I know that Garmin is sending data because of the steps, just not sure about HR especially with new update... :)
