Discovery told me yesterday that none of my workouts are valid since I used the muvit heart rate monitor. I think this is just a cop-out. They really are looking for any excuse not to give points.

That's BS. I've recieved points (vigorous hr training) using mine

Have you guys seen the explosion on their social media platforms? Facebook, HelloPeter etc?

They conveniently hide the changes that they made to how points are allocated for HR readings.

Previous, to get 300 points, you needed a work-out of 20-59 min with an average heart rate of 70% of your Max (this was 132 for me).
It is now, 30-89 min with an average heart rate of 80% of your Max (which is just under 160 for me).

They have stopped responding the complaints and the page is just filled with 1 star ratings and complaints.

To be honest, I am surprised that there hasnt been a single news story covering it.

I searched the Discovery Vitality facebook page and saw a few posts, about 30 or so? Where do we give them a 1 star rating?

There should be a control on the left of the screen. With 5 empty stars. Clicking on it should open the dialog to give them a rating.

I am appalled with the actions they've taken.

They said that they want to curb abuse and so they took away devices where this was possible; I get that. They mentioned that they will work with some device manufactures for direct integration. That's ok.

But don't change the limits and make it harder for people that are trying to play the game and are working towards improving their health and fitness; and to get their rewards for doing so.

The approach Discovery is taking is insincere and disingenuous.

So the TomTom device I got last week now won't cut it?

If you link your TomTom device to MapMyFitness before the 18th March, it will continue to work until Discovery have a solution in place for direct integration. Discovery will apparently put out a press release with more info on this soon.

I just get a generic email reply when I complain about the lack of love for swimming data from swimming specific devices. We want verifiable ..... etc. Its a Garmin swimming specific device, it only works when I am swimming laps.

I checked out the Polar Beat app, it looks like it will work, however I am not liking the data while working out. It looks cool, and all that, it even shows your heart bpm as a % of your age related max which is cool. But it only shows the "current" heart rate, not the average heart rate for the current workout while busy working out. Only after you complete the workout.

On the flip-side, the http://flow.polar.com website is pretty cool, I really like that part, shows better information for heart rate data than most of the other websites did.

Yes, Polar Beat really needs to show average HR if one is trying to score Vitality points above 100 points. In my first few workouts I averaged 80% because it was such a guessing game (pushing extra hard just in case), but once I got fitter it was a struggle to average even 70%. Hence I think I overdid it and now need to get my ticker checked out due to heart palpitations.
