Anyone with the Apple watch update to the new watch software?
It seems to be a lot more generous with the steps than the previous version.
and then it killed the work out before I noticed and killed it whole trying to resume so I ended up with a split workout = 1/3 points aaaaaaaaargh
Haven't noticed yet.. Today I cycled and the uv sleeve slipped under my watch setting into auto pauseand then it killed the work out before I noticed and killed it whole trying to resume so I ended up with a split workout = 1/3 points aaaaaaaaargh
Did a session today at gym after 6 weeks off gym, so obviously not that fit at present.
Did 10 minutes rowing at 7 intensity, then 13 minutes of deadlifts. Admittedly I was not going very heavy, only pulling my bodyweight in weight, but I struggled to hit a very high heart rate and keep it high. I stopped the session on Polar Beat app but carried on with my workout doing other things at my own pace. Average for the 23 minute recorded session was 73% of HR max. I highly doubt it would be wise for me to try to average 80% of HR max.

A quick Q: My garmin has not synced a workout / steps to vitality since the 24th. Is it because I am capped at 30k points for the year?
No, you should still receive Rewards points which are not allocated to your normal Vitality status points. Maybe check in Garmin Connect whether Discovery is still linked to your account.

Turning off "wrist detection" should fix that.
Sorry, fixed it now. Basically just under 15 minutes of my 23 minute workout was between 70 and 79.9% of max HR.Says your attachment is invalid.
Starting off with 10 minutes of cardio is not the end of the world but it sure was boring! Will replace this with a jog to the gym when weather permits. With deadlifts, at 60kg, as you say not heavy, I am able to push my HR% to over 90%, easily hit 98% with it, but its only for a short peak that lasts my 15-20 seconds, then my heart rate takes less than 30 seconds to recover back to 75%, and then another 30 seconds to hit 69%. Unfortunately with that, my average is around 74% to 75% at the end of the day. I will not push harder than that on lifting weights.
Other exercises don't push my HR% up that much. Squats and Deadlifts are the best. Overhead press goes up to like 77% max, bench press I think is about the same, when doing like 50-60kg benches.
Doing a bike is the easiest for me currently, although I work my butt off. A bit over the top to get to 80%. I will probably just skip this active rewards from next month.
Any news for tomtom devices?
Ps. Can you get points for an event (marathon, cycling timed etc) as well as HR?

any news on suunto? Their last communication a month again was that they were working on a solution.
https://www.discovery.co.za/portal/individual/vitality-news-mar16-vitality-fitness-pointsWe are also working closely with Strava, SUUNTO and TomTom to get the required integrations in place to award Vitality points, and we are confident that this will be finalised with all three partners in the coming months
I expect this thread to become hectic after 2 April.....
