^^I am also interested in this information.

This is something that Discovery could be nice about and actually provide.

If you want a device a Garmin Vivofit 1 or 2 with a heart rate monitor should be the cheapest. The other option is the Polar bluetooth heartrate monitor in conjunction with the polar app.

Cheapest still is the Muvit HRM belt strap from Makro at R399 combined with Polar Beats app on Android or Iphone.

Nope.. 1 "item" of points per day... whichever earns you the highest

Meh so next month athletes will realize what a mess up is about to befall them.

Btw I did get my 3k points for 2hr cycle today yay!! Will try one more on Thursday so I end up getting 9.6k for cycling 4x this month

And Takealot has a daily deal at the moment on the Vivofit 1 heart rate bundle.

A Wahoo Tickr X can be synced with Wahoo Fitness app, which itself can be synced with the Apple Health App and then finally to Discovery.
Will either of these use cases work?
Wahoo HRM --> Wahoo fitness --> Apple Health --> Discovery
or
Wahoo HRM --> Wahoo fitness --> Garmin Connect --> Discovery

Discovery is specifically blocking 3rd party app data as of April. So it will sync to Apple health or Garmin, but Discovery will discard that data, at least so they say.

You can still buy the Tickr X, but can only use it with another device to do the recording (eg Polar Beats app, or Polar Loop, or Garmin vivofit ect). So the X is a waste of money with Discovery, might as well get the regular Tickr belt.

Hmm that's what I was afraid of. Wife has a fitbit charge hr, which is next to useless now. Can't believe that you buy a Discovery approved device, sticker and all, and you get shafted three months after purchase.

Need an elegant way to track wattbike sessions that will satisfy Discovery.

Got this from Discovery Yesterday regarding the Fitbit HR I bought in Feb this year

As per our previous communication with you, we are in the process of refining how you can earn Vitality points using fitness apps and devices.

Vitality is working closely with Fitbit to enable the integration of heart rate data to enable you as a Fitbit Surge or Fitbit Charge HR user to earn Vitality points for heart rate tracking. Currently, Vitality members can earn 100 Vitality points for tracking 10 000 or more steps a day. Until the heart rate integration is complete, fitness points for heart rate cannot be allocated.

We will keep you updated about an expected date for the integration once this is confirmed. We hope to be able to communicate with you soon on the proposed resolution date.

Your weekly goals will be reduced to 300

Your Vitality Active Rewards goals will be adjusted downwards to 300 points (unless your current goal is lower) to help with the transition process in April.

We are confident that we will have Vitality/Fitbit integration within the next few months and we recommend that members keep their Fitbit devices as we work to enable you to be rewarded for heart rate activity.

However, if you would still like to use the exchange offer before the resolution is confirmed, there are two options to you as a Fitbit Charge HR or Fitbit Surge user:

1. You can choose to keep your Fitbit device and track steps until such time as Fitbit is able to offer HR integration with Vitality. We will also offer you a saving of R1 000 on a Polar H7 heart rate strap (worth R1 399 so you will only pay R399). If you want to take up this offer, reply to this email and we will send you further instructions with a discount code.

OR

2. If you do not want to keep your Fitbit Charge HR or Surge, you can exchange it for a Polar H7 heart rate strap (worth R1 399). If you want to take up this offer, reply to this email and we will send you further information advising on how to do this exchange.

Get active. Get rewarded.

Regards
The Vitality team

Dont think you can. Only the Galaxy S2 that can sync to S Health can sync to Discovery.
