Disney+ announces launch date for Xbox app in South Africa

Problem is that you have no idea what it can or can’t do yet

Have Android TV for fancy features. On my Xbox I usually just want to watch a show between games

Android TV is still broken, but let's go ahead and put this turd on more platforms...

what device you're using?
Ematic but it's not the device.

My TV supports Dolby Vision and the device doesn't. Hotstar in all their wisdom detects what the TV is capable of, and not the device. As a result it passes a DV signal to a non-DV device, which results in a black screen with audio...

Not my experience?

Get DolbyVision and while 4K streams where my working properly at launch. No issues now for me.

I was asking because I haven't personally subscribed yet to Disney +,I said I'll give them till December to iron out all their issues. Does dropping the resolution or turning off HDR on the tv help in any way?

what box do you have and did they fix that bug where it wouldn't save where you stopped in an episode?

It may be the device.

Try Nova and see if you get the same result

Don’t use a box. TV has Android TV built in.
Had that bug waaaaay in the beginning but it was fixed a few weeks after launch.

Was using a MiBox before this and even that didn’t have any issues albeit I just needed 4K and HDR.

Thanks that sounds promising, I have the 4K Chromecast also runs Google Tv so hopefully, no problems when I do pick up the sub.

Definitely the app. Note "dynamic_range:dv":

The weird thing is it was fixed after one of the updates, then broke again after the last update. When it was working, the dynamic_range value was "hdr10". Their code is obviously so crap that changing one thing is likely to break something else...

I tried Moon Night with a Nova on a C1 and it worked. Whether the app has changed (I’m aware it does from time to time), I’m not sure. Maybe I tried in the time it worked *shrug*

But I tried DV specifically.

Update it to the latest version and check if it still works... :p
