Disney+ hands-on tested in South Africa — Smooth playback with plenty to watch

MyBroadband has sneaked an early look at Disney+ a day before its official launch in South Africa.

The eagerly-anticipated video streaming service is officially going live in the country on Wednesday, 18 May 2022, two and a half years after its US debut.

Thank goodness my [US] account has a username/password.

One significant difference between Netflix, Showmax and other streaming services is that a Disney+ account is passwordless.

Instead, creating and logging into the account required a cellphone number that we had to verify via two-factor authentication through an SMS or phone call. This proved to be a quick and straightforward process.

Am I missing something here. Your auth is against your cellphone number. No password used? So it's not two-factor then??!

Just subscribed. Not too pleased. Only first ever 2 seasons of Simpsons is watchable, rest listed but not selectable.
Noticed other bugs as well. Season 2 of Simpsons has 23 episodes, scrolling past episode 20 takes you back to episode 11....annoying

Umm... No, don't think so.

Cellphone is android play store, and apple is both sa etc.

I think as stated above, they have opened up previews etc.

Probably tomorrow when it's the official release day all will be streamable.
