Disney+ launches in South Africa — all the details

The Walt Disney Company officially launched Disney+ in South Africa on Wednesday for R119 per month or a discounted annual fee of R1,190.

A pre-launch promotion allowed South African residents to register their interest ahead of the 18 May launch date to lock in a special price of R950 for the year.

Lol no wonder monochoice did these bundle deals with Disney. Those live sport remarks would send shivers down spines in Dubai.

None of the consoles have the app available if you have a south African account for Xbox or PlayStation. No word on when they're going to have it available for those consoles either.

Registered on Samsung TV app. Now want to watch on Safari but no idea how to get to the South African portal. Just keeps coming back to .com and the username/password login???

Anyone?

google > " disney plus " > click on link https://www.disneyplus.com/ > do the ZA onboarding if you haven't / log in > sub if you haven't / start watching

It's cool. I sorted it. I have a British Apple account and have cancelled my British subscription before signing up for the SA account on my TV so I can get Star. Account kept on taking me to the British sign in with email and password as the ZA option wasn't on the page. Ended up clicking on the download app link which on my phone says 'app not available in your region', but here it took me to the ZA site and managed to log in there.

Why is there no star wars a new hope?
"Although there are still some geographic licensing constraints, Disney will continue to add more of its own content to Disney+ as the rights clear."

From the article. I imagine everything Disney owns will eventually end up being on Disney+.
