Disney+ vs Netflix vs Prime Video vs Showmax in South Africa

It's best to cycle through these things. Showmax for when Rick & Morty/His Dark Materials lands. Amazon Prime when Wheel of Time lands. Netflix when they get a Squid Games/Dragon Prince/ etc. And of course DSTV all the time since cricket never stops.

What a weird metric.

Imagine we did this with DStv. R5 a channel seems good value - but we know 90% of channels are just garbage.
I also don't get why I have to pay dstv to watch ads, shouldn't the content be free if i am being forced to watch ads?

Funny, didn't appear on my playstore for either phone or android TV.
What android version is the TV box? Needs to be 8 or above. It's on my maverick.
Not available for Android phones.

720p on 4K tv Eish horrible picture quality. Waiting patiently for dstv and Showmax to start streaming in 4K ‍♂️

amazon has 9000 titles? when we tried it, a lot of the stuff we attempted said "not available in your area". it's super annoying to pay for something and then in your search results they show you stuff that you're not allowed to watch. netflix at least hides it and then pretends that the list of otems they're showing are "similar".

I was hoping for a content comparison between US and SA's Disney+ Library.

I wouldn't consider Disney+ and Netflix as competing services. It's almost like comparing Showmax with BritBox

I find myself having to force Britbox to play each episode in a series.

Limited content to watch as well and I signed up because I usually like British content.

Will give Disney+ a go. Created several profiles on Netflix with different "interests" just to get other recommendations but it has become tiresome trying to find something decent to watch on a cold weekend.

Only stream someone else's DSTV over weekends for rugby.

Only ever used the 7 day free trial for Showmax to watch the last season of GoT.
