I am trying to install my friends ADSL for him, the DIY kit manual is ****, it does not have flow chart so I can see what plugs into what, and with all these funny looking white boxes and wires for Africa I am a bit lost.

Setting up my wimax was far easier, (antenna wire to modem box > then to PC, DONE!!!).

I think telkom is trying to make it hard, so my buddy has to pay for the techie to come.

ANYWAY does anyone have a website, or can tell me what plugs into what.

(Maybe the people at telkom writing the manual did not know themselves)

Generally speaking the modem cable goes directly from the wall into the back of the router. Then you take the thicker ethernet cable (assuming it isnt a USB modem) and that goes from one of the ports in the back of the router across to the computer.

There should also be some adsl filters that you plug in to all your telephones and faxes. In fact everything except the router needs to run through one.

Thanks, that was a great help, it is now working great!!!

cheers
