DLink DSL-2640U opening ports

My customer has a Dlink DSL-2640U router. I need to open port 3389 so the programmer can use Remote desktop. I did a setup of Dyndns and it works, I use Gbridge to get access to their network for the moment.

When I log in with Gbridge I can use Remote Desktop on the PC that we need access to so I am sure that is working. When I go to www.canyouseeme.org and ask it to check port 3389 it tells me it is closed. I did setup NAT Virtual server open port 3389 server IP is the PC IP and then remote IP is the PC IP again. You can’t leave server IP blank.

I have turned off the firewall on the router no luck. The manual I downloaded off the net looks different to the layout on the router???

I did the same setup on my network and it work only difference is I am using a Netgear.

unless i misunderstand u, u cant have the remote ip the same as thr internal ip of the server??? it would need to b any.

It asks for a server IP and a Remote Host IP under Virtual Servers. So I put the IP of the PC I try to connect into both of them. I am not sure what server IP it wants.

By server ip I would think it means the internal ip of the server?
It sounds like the router is doing port forwarding?

Do you have the option of entering the ip of the internal server and leaving remote host ip blank/any/0.0.0.0 ?

*EDIT* let me explain further, its asking where must it forward the port 3389 to? which would be the internal server ip. Its also asking from where must I accept this connection from (remote ip). If the remote ip is set to an internal ip, then any connection coming from the internet will not be port forwarded. Which is why you would most likely need to make the remote ip as any/blank/0.0.0.0 since you are most likely going to be coming from a dynamic external ip address.

I changed it so that the Remote IP is blank, no luck, canyouseeme.org still shows the port as closed
