If I have an connection started at 8pm and end my session at Midnight - Will the last hour have been at night surfer rates or will it be a normal day rates? Some people have to re-connect at 11pm to get the night surfer rates - Are they smoking socks or is there some truth there?

Oddly enough, my router used to disconnect and reconnect at the crossover time on 8ta, so I would get like 60 seconds of no internet at that time

Possibly but I am not that obsessed with 8ta anymore I go and sleep. Yet again I don't notice it cause using my smartphone as a modem :)

The reduced tariff kicks in for me without interrupting a pre-11pm download session -- I have checked my usage balance on the 8ta site to be sure. There's also less congestion during these off-peak hours -- though on the downside, there's more congestion on the USA side because their business hours have kicked in, given that so much of what we access originates in the USA.
