Do you call your parents by their first name or Mom & Dad?

I used to call my late mum by her name when I was a child, but reverted to "ma" as I got older. My father has always been "pa". Everybody else I call oom or tannie depending on sex.

Indian. Mom, and Dad or what the grandkids call him. My oldest son has taken to calling my husband and me by our first names when we don't respond immediately. If it happens when I'm near, he gets smacked upside the head.

It's amazing how so many things change when the grandkids come around
