Do you have a backup water supply at home?

I don't have one but I want to get a borehole drilled. Only problem is access to my property from the street is limited to a very narrow passage. So we will struggle to get a drill in unfortunately.

Other: I have rain water tanks.

ATM I just use them for laundry. I overbought during the PE drought so I'm probably going to down size to just 5kl.

borehole and 5000l tank. municipality can get fcked for all I care.

Want to get a borehole as soon as possible, currently have a tank linked to the municipal feed

I have a 2500l tank with pressure pump as backup to municipal supply. Looking at adding a 5000l to the setup. Can't go without backup on the south coast. We are currently on day 3 without water (again) and no reason or estimate given by the municipality

I have installed 2 jojo slimline tanks but have not bought a pump or anything to connect it up to my house. Water interruptions in our area are rare enough that the cost did not seem worth it yet. For now we will use buckets to get it back in the house.

I want to install a water backup, especially for times like this coming Friday, but long outages like this are normally once a year. Other times it's an outage here or there to fix pipes.

Other: complex pool

We had a water outage for a few days. Pool water is good enough to flush the toilet.

Other: 25l jerry can water in the garage

Just get cheap plastic piping for now. Gravity will let the water flow at a slow rate if needed (Tank has to be full though)

I have a unconnected municipal backup system.

Waiting for some spare cash to have the connections to the mains done.

I have a pump but haven't connected it in a few years as its not worth the extra maintenance at this point.
I just use a watering can to fill the toilettes and a bucket for cleaning/washing and then have some 5l cans for drinking/cooking.

We rarely have more than 3 days without water though its mostly a day here and there. So if that becomes longer and more regular I'll upgrade to a proper system.

Other: wellpoint.

Difference between wellpoint and borehole:

1. Price, borehole is expensive, wellpoints relatively cheap.
2. Wellpoint is 10 metres and less deep, borehole as deep as you want, but you pay.
3. Pump, wellpoint as a pump above ground, borehole has a pump underground.
