I think the fact that Child Pornography is almost like a home page, makes it a bit disturbing to be honest. Its like thats all the dark web is about really.

Besides, i was really only interested in the UN-savoury products on sale, but now, with 420monkeys and Bobby Greenhouse etc. no need for that.

to scared to even try
Don't worry. It's pretty damn boring, and incredibly hard to find sites anyway. Unless you're really looking for illicit stuff it's lame. Of course, it will be useful when the totalitarian overlords take over and we need to organise the revolution.

Yep, hard to find working sites, but when you do find addresses it's not really that interesting. Unless you are actually wanting to do some illegal stuff. It's a handy thing to know about though. Plenty of righteous uses for it too.

Checked it out a few years ago, but was pretty boring so haven't used it since.

I agree with this.

Some do-gooders need to clean it up though, it really has some of the darkest content of the world. (I guess its not called the "Dark Web" for its cat videos, and funny memes)

True, the stuff I know about that exists in the .onion universe is horrifying. Though I cannot imagine how anyone would stop that stuff for good. Silk road was shut down yeah, but I'd much prefer to hear of paedophile rings and assassination sites shut down!!

But yeah, when the revolution comes it will be handy (as it is handy for those living in totalitarian countries already.

The one thing as mentioned here is basically child porn is on every 2nd page, which is super annoying if that't not why you are there.

Some of the more interesting pages I have seen over the years :
Self mutilation and group mutilation is pretty common on some sites, there are even communities who have weekly challenges with prizes for who can cut the deepest.
Death, death is everywhere, but the weirdest I ever saw was porn-suicide. The chick/dude would do a cam show, and then off her/himself in the same video. This was insane
Chainsaw mutilation, there were 3 sites I discovered which focused on accidental and purposeful mutilation with a chainsaw

Apart from the horror stuff, you find very awesome stuff there also

I found a site of a guy that made rounds for rifles which he claimed was untraceable, his videos explaining all the things were pretty good.
I was part of a community revolving around hosting servers that are basically invisible, but in the public domain. So it would be hosted in a normal DC, but would be routed somewhere else. This took up a lot of my time on the dark web, and was fun.
I was also quite involved early on with cracking games and testing cracking algorithms, most games I could crack by myself, which was fun. Skidrow911 started on the site I was part of.

It's disturbing to think people who are into those kind of things are all around us.

Thumbs up for Skidrow, such was my first copy of call of duty when I was but a lad

I had an interesting moment at a client a few years ago.
I was at the client site to do something on their Exchange server, and dealt with this super quite and shy looking Exchange admin for about 3 weeks on a daily basis. We got chatting one day and he mentioned some site name that I recognized, so I asked him whether he knows a certain nickname well known to that community. He said no very quickly and avoided the rest of the conversation like I asked him about his dead mother. I knew he was into some of the weirdest stuff I've seen, but anyone working with him would have no idea by just dealing with him on a regular basis, and I always look at people differently since then

It seems to be the quite ones that are the most worrying.
