I draw a thousand rand at a time which often lasts 2-3 months and mostly goes to the maid who usually wants half payments to her bank account anyway.

Previously would have used cash to pay odds and ends at my daughter's school but even they use Snapscan for that now.

So card 99.99% of the time.

If I could find a nice iPhone cover that accommodates a few cards I would throw my wallet away.

for things I buy around the City its primarily cash, I only use my ATM card for once off cash withdrawal every month

Almost completely card only.

Swiped for a R6.50 packet of chips the other week.

Card or snapscan for pretty much 100% of purchases.

Cash also. Never carry more than R300 unless I'm going to buy something I know will be more...

As for the tax evasion bit, what the...? Surely you get paid via EFT
Not me, I have very little say as my employer deducts my tax.
Cash offers businesses the opportunity to keep a second set of books. That's the most that I can do at the moment.

I'd love to know the average age of the people who voted cash primarily. Generally find older folks (60+) prefer using cash.

I use it for budgetary purposes. I withdraw R3000, and I use R100 a day.

Its simple and works for me.

Card 98% of the time. I prefer card though I like having around R100 cash in my wallet just in case I have to buy something from a informal place, parking tickets etc.
If I have no cash in my wallet it doesn't really bother me though, I for example had around R400 in my wallet for months without using it, then I spent it all one night at a place who's card machines was offline, and for at least the past month there has only been R15 in my wallet.

Card 95% of the time. Cash when they do not have a card machine or app-payment support.

Last two big events I went to had "wrist payments". Your access band for an event can be loaded with money, which is then scanned by vendors at the event for payment. Nice idea, but you have to spend it all or go through the process of claiming back when the event is over.

Card for almost everything. I keep cash for parking meters, petrol attendants, and purchases under R20, as some shops set a lower swipe limit. I do wish all bars took cards for single drinks though, a night out is one of the few times I draw cash.
