About a year ago, there were reports that it could be re-relaunched in December 2024 but since then, radio silence.

There was also the Elite world cup announcement at the BRICS summit but all these plans seem to just die slowly.

I also got to sit in the sun all day in so called best tickets.. Also a couple of cars every so often.. Never again.. Also bad catering and toilet facilities.
Fun Fact: A group of SA businessmen actually bought the original A1 cars in 2015 when it went under.
Iirc the original plan was to make a South African Cup with the different provinces taking on each other.
Later it was changed to an African Cup with different African countries taking on each other. This was supposed to start in 2020 but nothing ever happened.
