Do you still buy and read magazines?

Yes I still buy and read magazines because it is better to have the physical real thing then being a phone/digital zombie.

The other thing is that reading on a screen can be very damaging to your eyes.

I read mostly muscle mags

I'll read magazines, but I don't go out o my way to buy them, all my interests have ezines

If the magazine comes with a membership, I get it, otherwise I do not buy magazines at all anymore.

I stopped the ones I did get because I no longer got any value out of them.
What the H do you do with them afterwards? They litter up the place, filling bookshelves, and even cause you hassles when an Insurance evaluator comes in to your place for any reason.

Then of course one could trot out the PC reasons -- saving trees and protecting the environment, but none of those factors affected my decisions in the least bit.

Access to the Internet just about removes any need for a magazine.

But I must admit, I read quite a few when in waiting rooms ......

No, only the one's in the Doctors and Dentist rooms, which at my age I visit often. :)

Yup, car mags, wifey buys those house ones from time to time.
I love em, love the whole process, the smell, the feel.

Most definitely.
Still read printed and bound books too.
A kindle or iPad gets easily ruined by water, and beach sand.
It is also rather uncomfortable and ineffective to wipe with.

I'll occasionally buy a fishing magazine, the weg magazine is also a nice mag.

I used to love receiving my NAG and PCFomat magazines (when the post office wasn't on strike and actually delivered them!) but sadly both of those have gone by the wayside. They would always get passed onto my friends kid who couldn't afford to buy them himself. I then bought the UK version of PCFormat for a year - then they too closed up shop. So now the only printed magazine I still receive is the Submerge scuba diving mag. PC Gamer and PC World I receive on Zinio as they are based overseas and would cost too much to send to SA.

People always mention "saving trees" - in what way are we saving trees? Plantations are planted specifically for the making of paper materials ie newspapers and magazines. So effectively, you are taking away those peoples livelihoods. Now if you are talking about saving trees because people want expensive wooden furniture, then I can understand as illegal loggers are going into old and supposedly protected forest areas to log there. I always found someone who was happy to receive my old magazines/newspapers, not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to afford them, and it didn't take a lot of effort either.

No, I have stopped buying magazines, cos it has become extremely expensive and there is so much available on the internet. I used to buy the Shape magazine for the healthy lifestyle tips and the Fairlady for the crossword puzzles.

I buy CAR when we are on holiday.

No longer buy newspapers. Last to go was The Sunday Times when the last of my favourite columnists stopped writing.
