Only way this government can hope to save SA is to go small and divest as much as they can from all of the failed SOEs that have saddled us with so much debt. This trims the public wage bill as well.
Telkom is the one SEO that has not failed, has no bailouts, does not add or subtract from the public wage bill. It pays the government tax as it is profitable and then pays dividends to the government on that after-tax profit. Why sell and exit the goose that lays eggs rather put effort and time into fixing the broken and leave the unbroken alone. This is a bit like fixing private health care when the public health care system is broken.

We NEED BETTER service from Telkom. They Lack Technicians and Employees that really want to work.

Telekom another Joke.
They still Blacklisting innocent people who have canceled their accounts years ago.
You just try to get in touch with a "Manager" to sort **** out....! All you get is "For this press 1, For that press 2,
Or even worse is " We are currently experiencing a heavy load call, please hold the line for the next available consultant" .....30 mins later NOTHING HAPPENS... another Sick SA Joke.

Telkom doesn't appear to be comparable to things like SAA and Eskom. The government is a majority shareholder, but how much do they actually interfere with the running of the company?

That happens with many companies. All over the world.

Sell everything they have a stake in.

My childish side: Why does the government have a stake in a sperm bank?
My less childish side: No, don’t post that, you’ll regr... ah screw it. Whatever, who cares what the government does anyway? Not 98% of smokers, who raised a big fat middle finger at “them” when paying R100+ for a R15 pack of smokes. Not the 2% of non-smokers who started smoking just to raise a big fat middle finger at “them”, coz, don’t go telling ME I can’t *coughs hysterically* smoke...
