Does a Majortech MTD7 timer tolerate a modsine inverter?

Has anyone tried using a Majortech MTD7 timer on a modsine inverter? I know some appliances (especially if low cost) use a cap dropper as a power supply which does not tolerate modsine. Without opening up a timer, I have no idea if the timer will operate or fail if plugged into a modsine inverter. I would preferably not have to buy one and plug it in check if it smokes or not.

I am using the timer to reset an unattended (perhaps for months) TP-Link router to prevent possible lock up. However, I have the router on a standard line-interactive UPS due to the 4 hour or so loadshedding one can expect. This is for a home use application.

Well, I eventually bought one. I opened it up and saw that the supply looked like a cap dropper circuit. I was hesitant to plug it into a modsine inverter as I don't believe the cap dropper would tolerate it.

I will have to try something else to accomplish what I need.

Sonoff Basic Switch is an option. They are R120 locally or R65 from China. You can program them as timers.

I just started using them as they are a lot cheaper than day/night switches for spot lights.

@Dairyfarmer Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I had already bought some alternative items. I ended up using a relay. I see the Sonoff makes use of a switchmode converter as a power supply. I'll keep the Sonoff in mind for future use.
