Does anyone know the cost of fixing laptop hinges?

So this morning, out of nowhere, my laptop starts making this cracking sound. I decide to force a open and close on it (a very bad idea in hindsight) and it seems I’ve broken the hinges and the bezel has separated from the screen. I have a HP notebook 250 G7 and was wondering if this happened to anyone else and if they knew how much it would cost to get it fixed?
Oh and one more question, will there be any long term effect to the laptop if I don’t get this fixed right away. This isn’t a good time to be a uni student who doesn’t have a job anymore

Lockdown...are you moving your laptop around or it's just on a desk the whole day?

I alternate between my desk and bed quite often, maybe using the laptop on an uneven is what did it?

Also in bed the bouncing motion stresses the hinges...

(Should be fine though, especially if it's mostly on the desk. So long as your screen is still working it sounds like it's just a bit of mechanical damage)

Thanks hopefully it can hold up another month until my semester ends

You might be able to purchase a replacement hinge from Aliexpress or eBay. You need to check the model no. carefully to make sure that you are ordering the correct replacement. It might be cheaper just to have the damaged hinge welded by a jeweller etc.

Thanks for the tip, but I found out my laptop is still under warranty, thankfully, so hopefully I can sort it out soon.

Oh and if anyone has the same issue, I got a quote from a tech shop (http://www.wolfatek.com/), who said it should cost about R900.
