Does IOS/iphone 'do not disturb' work in South Africa?

When I put my iphone on DO NOT DISTURB it redirects to a BUSY signal, instead of to VOICEMAIL (as advertised by the manual).

Not sure if this is a VODACOM problem or a general SA problem - seems like many people outside of the US have this issue?

Anyone found a way to get it to go to voicemail?

I've never used this feature, perhaps you have to set up call forwarding from the Phone menu under Settings, and specify your voicemail number?

Well the nice thing with 'do not disturb' is that you can allow calls from certain people. Call Forwarding will apply to all calls, which is not what i want.

it seems such a simple (and nice) phone feature. You get the missed call visible on your phone, but no noise, no vibration - and the caller is diverted to voicemail.

Everything works on vodacom, EXCEPT the divert goes to a BUSY signal instead of VOICEMAIL... which is extremly frustrating for the caller... because they simply keep re-trying, instead of gettging the opportunity to leave a voicemail.

Mine performs as advertised. People in my favourites group get through, anyone else goes to voicemail.

OK, good to know! Which network are you with?
And did they have to activate anything special on your settings on the network?

Is that with Call Forwarding activated?
I had a look in Settings> Phone and it's not activated.

Currently with Telkom. My missus is on Vodacom and it seems to work as well.

Service centre do not always do the right job. You can do on your own by typing code:
##002# [dial]
You will have to reactivate your mailbox afterwards, as everything is reset.
Remember this code, very handy when going overseas. :)

By setting up a BUSY divert to VOICEMAIL this problem went away.

Setting up a BUSY divert (or any divert) to voicemail when you have a PORTED NUMBER is a problem :)

the divert 'formula', if your number is 0XXYYYYYYY seems to be 0XX131YYYYYYY - this does not work for ported numbers. For ported numbers to Vodacom the number you must divert to is: 08214XXYYYYYYY

So by setting a BUSY divert, I managed to solve my particular problem. Setting the divert (copy paste):
Creating DIVERTS:
No Reply **61* Number # dial
No Reply – Extend ringing time **61* Number *11*5-30sec # dial
Not Reachable **62*Number # dial
Busy **67*Number # dial
Unconditional **21*Number #dial
All Conditions **002*Number #dial
All Conditions except unconditional **004*Number #dial

so I just did

**67*08214XXYYYYYYY#
(I also added 62 and 61 for unreachable and no answer)

Regards
