Does Mediatek chip based phones have k@kka GPS in general?

The only real complain I have with my Meizu is really really bad GPS. I have been looking on the interwebz and it seems that Mediatek does not have a good reputation when it comes to GPS. Is this based in fact or perception. I am using my work cellphone (Huawei P7) to navigate now when I go see customers, and it is a pleasure to use. My Meizu seems like a turd compared to it where GPS is concerned.

What do you guys think? Do Mediatek make absolutely crap GPS chips?

Perhaps they have bettered it in the newer generation of chips. I think with my next phone, I will look for one with a Qualcomm chip rather to be safe.

I thought they all pretty much used the sirf gps chipsets.
